Read About Baker!

Read About Baker! - Click For EnlargementBaker, a stray wandering the streets in Bakersfield CA, was turned in to animal Control by a teacher when he was found begging food from her students. Sadly, Baker was put on hold for 10 more miserable days before Fast Friends was able to pick him up.

His tats indicated Baker was 10 years old and his appointment with the veterinarian showed he had a fractured jaw with one canine embedded in his nasal cavity. The break in his hock, though severe, had fused on its own and the decision was made not to do a surgical repair. His treatment also included neuter and 11 extractions during his dental. The cost to Fast Friends for bringing Baker back to a viable life was $3500, but there was no hesitation to go forward.

Once healed, Baker was sent to Nevada Greyhounds Unlimited in Reno for adoption and became one of their greytest ambassadors for Meet & Greets- a very happy ending to a very sad story, thanks to these two adoption groups. And Baker is but one of many special stories to their credit.

With more than the usual special needs greyhounds having arrived recently from a Mexican racetrack, Fast Friends could really use your help right now- we hope you love these Tiny Treasures!
