"Picturesque"

This smooth, flat stone is from Italy. and whether "Picturesque" is a description or its actual name, its what the vendor at the mineral show called it!

It almost appears as if Brynn is runing from the cliffs to the ocean here in our Northern California landscape...

The box itself measures 2.5" X 2" X 1.5" and is carved from two separate pieces of rosewood, so it has no seams or joints.

Bijou Hearts

New from Fire & Light, come these "Bijou Hearts", purchased in a set of all six colors. Each begins with a plain glass background of lavender into which selected colors are swirled by hand.

For now, we have only these TWO hearts- we've been experimenting with our etcher as to how they look best, the most recent decision being that 3 will be etched and filled with gold, the other three will be normally etched to allow colorful swirls to show through 8Ball.

Bijou hearts, shorter than the plain colors and pebbled on their slanted undersides, are lovely gifts for any greyhound lover just as they are, so we'll not be personalizing them as we do Memorial Hearts which are reserved for an enitrely different purpose.

Greyhound Spirit Guides

"A totem can be the symbol of a tribe, a clan, a family or an individual. Native American tradition provides that each individual is connected with nine different animals that will accompany him/her through life, acting as spirit guides. Different animal guides come in and out of our lives depending on the direction in which we're headed and the tasks that need to be completed along our journey.

Native beliefs further explain that a totem animal is one that is with you for life, both in the physical and spiritual world. Though people may identify with different animal guides throughout their lifetimes, it is this one totem animal that acts as the main guardian spirit." Wolves, coyotes and dogs are all listed among totem animals, and though the dog isn't specified as a greyhound, I'm certain the greyhound is my personal totem, the jewelry I wear all bears their fetish, like those of the bears, the buffalo and the beaver represented in this photograph. As a matter of fact, I'm sure that all nine of my spirit guides are greyhounds, too!

We asked Ms. Lewis to make us up a pillow with a cat as an example- of course, this one, too, is for sale!

You are welcome, however, to order your own pillow, from little ones with a single dog ($75), to this 14" X 14" size, or even larger. Prices will vary according to size and number of figures.

As seen in the Art Show, Dewey '06, this Zen Bowl, produced from recycled glass by Fire & Light in Arcata, CA, features all eight of NCG's Designer Dogs.

This is a large decorative piece! Measuring 17.25" in diameter and just 3.5" from the tabletop, the Zen Bowl weighs 11.5 pounds and is available in your choice of nine different colors. Note that the etching shows up best against the darker colors like cobalt, plum, copper and olive. Your color choice may be typed into the "comments" box.
